CCITT is a technical committee of the International Telecommunications Union, a United Nations organization in Geneva. It sets international communications recommendations concerning standardization of data interfaces, modems, and data networks. ArcInfo is fully compliant with CCITT Group IV, the Standard for raster data compression. ArcInfo supports the following TIFF compression schemes: CCITT Group 4 for black-and-white data (read only); CCITT Group 3, one-dimensional encoding for black-and-white data; and PackBits.
